William Patrick "Pat" Hone MC was an Irish cricketer. A right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper, he played six times for the Ireland cricket team between 1909 and 1928, all of which were first-class matches.

Şevket Süreyya Aydemir
Şevket Süreyya Aydemir was a Turkish writer, intellectual, economist, historian, and one of the founders, publisher and a key theorist of Kadro ("Cadre"). Kadro was an influential left-wing political journal published in Turkey from 1931 to 1934. He was educated and became familiar with Marxism at Moscow University where he studied economics, and worked as a teacher in Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Russia. He was a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and the Communist Party of Turkey, and attended a Soviet-sponsored Congress for the Peoples of the East in Baku on the Turkish party's behalf.

Eyvind Johnson was a Swedish novelist and short story writer. Regarded as the most groundbreaking novelist in modern Swedish literature he became a member of the Swedish Academy in 1957 and shared the Nobel Prize in Literature with Harry Martinson in 1974 with the citation: for a narrative art, far-seeing in lands and ages, in the service of freedom.

Charles Davies Lederer was an American screenwriter and film director. He was born into a prominent theatrical family in New York, and after his parents divorced, was raised in California by his aunt, Marion Davies, actress and mistress to newspaper publisher William Randolph Hearst. A child prodigy, he entered the University of California, Berkeley at age 13, but dropped out after a few years to work as a journalist with Hearst's newspapers.
