Fyodor Mikhaylovich Terentyev was a Soviet cross-country skier who competed at the 1956 Winter Olympics. He won a gold medal in the 4×10 km relay and a bronze in the individual 50 km event, finishing sixth in the 30 km race. He also won two silver medals in the relay at the world championships in 1954 and 1958.

William Godfrey (1889–1963) was an English Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as Archbishop of Westminster from 1956 until his death, and was elevated to the cardinalate in 1958.

Ngô Đình Nhu was a Vietnamese archivist and politician. He was the younger brother and chief political advisor of South Vietnam's first president, Ngô Đình Diệm.
