Charles Lovett Gill
Charles Lovett Gill (1880–1960) was a Scottish architect, notable for his long-term partnership with Sir Albert Edward Richardson, which lasted from 1906 to 1939. He lived at The White House, Odiham, Hampshire, England, and was invested as a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects in recognition for his contribution to architecture in England.

Oswald Veblen was an American mathematician, geometer and topologist, whose work found application in atomic physics and the theory of relativity. He proved the Jordan curve theorem in 1905; while this was long considered the first rigorous proof of the theorem, many now also consider Camille Jordan's original proof rigorous.
Philip Perlman
Philip B. Perlman was a Baltimore native, the son of Benjamin and Rose Nathan Perlman. Graduating from Baltimore City College secondary school in 1908, Perlman worked as a reporter for the Baltimore American while studying political economy at Johns Hopkins University. He studied law at the University of Maryland School of Law, being admitted to the bar one year prior to receiving a law degree in 1912. He began working for The Evening Sun in 1910, first as a court reporter, and then as City Editor from 1913–1917. It was probably at this time that he got to know H. L. Mencken.

Evelyn Emily Mary Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire, was the wife of The 9th Duke of Devonshire. She was born the elder daughter of the politician and diplomat The 5th Marquess of Lansdowne, and grew up amidst public life. Evelyn's marriage to Cavendish, the heir of The 8th Duke of Devonshire, led to her becoming Duchess of Devonshire in 1908. With her position, she oversaw the reorganisation of the Devonshire estates and presided over four English houses and one Irish castle.
