Leonhard Hess Stejneger was a Norwegian-born American ornithologist, herpetologist and zoologist. Stejneger specialized in vertebrate natural history studies. He gained his greatest reputation with reptiles and amphibians.

Samuel David Camillo Olivetti known just as Camillo was an Italian electrical engineer and founder of Olivetti & Co., SpA., the Italian manufacturer of computers, printers and other business machines. The company was later run by his son Adriano.

Carl von Weinberg was an important Jewish German chemist, entrepreneur, patron of the arts and philanthropist.

Carlo Cremonesi was an Italian Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church who served as Territorial Prelate of Pompei from 1926 to 1928, and was elevated to the cardinalate in 1935.

Claudine West (1890–1943) was a British novelist and screenwriter. She moved to Hollywood in 1929, and was employed by MGM on many films, including some of their biggest productions of the late 1930s and early 1940s. Many of the films she worked on were British-themed such as Goodbye, Mr. Chips and The White Cliffs of Dover.
