Johan Fridolf Hagfors was a Swedish newspaper publisher, music critic and composer, most known for having composed the two songs Modersmålets sång and Ålänningens sång.

Michael Hoke Smith was an American attorney, politician, and newspaper owner who served as United States Secretary of the Interior (1893–1896), 58th Governor of Georgia, and a United States Senator (1911–1920) from Georgia.

Henry Gauthier-Villars or Willy, his nom-de-plume, was a French fin de siècle writer and music critic who is today mostly known as the mentor and first husband of Colette. Other pseudonyms used by Gauthiers-Villars are: Henry Maugis, Robert Parville, l’Ex-ouvreuse du Cirque d’été, L’Ouvreuse, L’Ouvreuse du Cirque d’été, Jim Smiley, Henry Willy, Boris Zichine.

Émile Jourdan was a French painter who became one of the artists who gathered in the village of Pont-Aven in Brittany.

Augustus Everett Willson was an American politician and the 36th Governor of Kentucky. Orphaned at the age of twelve, Willson went to live with relatives in New England. This move exposed him to such authors as Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Oliver Wendell Holmes, and James Russell Lowell, who were associates of his older brother, poet Forceythe Willson. He was also afforded the opportunity to attend Harvard University, where he earned an A.B. in 1869 and an A.M. in 1872. After graduation, he secured a position at the law firm of future Supreme Court justice John Marshall Harlan. Willson and Harlan became lifelong friends, and Willson's association with Harlan deepened his support of the Republican Party.

Alfred Perceval Graves, was an Irish poet, songwriter and folklorist. He was the father of British poet and critic Robert Graves.

Giovanni Boldini was an Italian genre and portrait painter who lived and worked in Paris for most of his career. According to a 1933 article in Time magazine, he was known as the "Master of Swish" because of his flowing style of painting.

Kitiyakara Voralaksana, Prince of Chanthaburi I was a Prince of Siam, a member of the Siamese Royal Family. He originated the House of Kitiyakara (ราชสกุลกิติยากร). His descendants use this royal surname. He is the paternal grandfather of Queen Sirikit, consort of King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Through Sirikit he is also the maternal great-grandfather of King Maha Vajiralongkorn, who has been King of Thailand since 2016.

Charlotte Besnard, born Charlotte Dubray, was a French sculptor. She is perhaps best known as the wife of the successful painter Paul-Albert Besnard (1849–1934), whose career she did much to advance. Although she was well known for her own work in her day, she has since been largely forgotten.
