Martha Mansfield was an American actress in silent films and vaudeville stage plays.

Princess Victoria Margaret Elizabeth Marie Ulrike of Prussia was a member of the House of Hohenzollern. She was the eldest daughter of Prince Friedrich Leopold of Prussia and his wife Princess Louise Sophie of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg. She married Prince Heinrich XXXIII Reuss of Köstritz and had two children.

William Malcolm Low was a British Conservative party politician. He was the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Grantham division of Lincolnshire from 1886 to 1892.

Francis John Henry Jenkinson was librarian of the University of Cambridge 1889-1923. He was succeeded by A. F. Scholfield.

Johannes Diderik van der Waals was a Dutch theoretical physicist and thermodynamicist famous for his pioneering work on the equation of state for gases and liquids. Van der Waals started his career as a school teacher. He became the first physics professor of the University of Amsterdam when in 1877 the old Athenaeum was upgraded to Municipal University. Van der Waals won the 1910 Nobel Prize in physics for his work on the equation of state for gases and liquids.

Emanuel Hegenbarth was a German painter and graphic artist. Most of his works feature animals.

Baron Jacques d'Adelswärd-Fersen was a French novelist and poet. His life forms the basis of a fictionalised 1959 novel by Roger Peyrefitte entitled The Exile of Capri (L'exilé de Capri).
