Peter Goddard is a British mathematical physicist who works in string theory and conformal field theory. Among his many contributions to these fields is the Goddard–Thorn theorem.

Christoph Bertram is a German journalist who is director of the German Institute for International and Security Affairs. He was director of the International Institute for Strategic Studies from 1974 to 1982. He worked for TIME magazine for sixteen years as head of department and as diplomatic correspondent.
