After two seasons with the Raiders, he was drafted third overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft in the 2014 season.In 2020, Draisaitl became the first German-born player to win the Art Ross Trophy as the leading point scorer in the NHL. Additionally, he was awarded the Hart Memorial Trophy and the Ted Lindsay Award in 2020 as the Most Valuable Player.

This is her third "first" for men's football in 2014 and 2015.
