Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson is a Ghanaian cardinal of the Catholic Church. He was president of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace from 24 October 2009 to 1 January 2017. From 2017 to 2021 he was prefect of the newly created Dicastery for the Promotion of Integral Human Development, which consolidated several areas under one administration including, environment, ecology, ethics, dignity of all people, poverty, and economics. In 2022 he was named chancellor of the Pontifical Academies for Sciences and for Social Sciences. He was Archbishop of Cape Coast from 1992 to 2009. He was made a cardinal by Pope John Paul II in 2003.

Johann Heermann was a German poet and hymnodist. He is commemorated in the Calendar of Saints of the Lutheran Church on 26 October with Philipp Nicolai and Paul Gerhardt.

Anthony "Tony" Moore is an English singer-songwriter, musician, radio presenter and music promoter. He was also a member of Iron Maiden. He first became famous in 1986 as keyboard player with the band Cutting Crew, and in 1997 he founded The Kashmir Klub to showcase live music in London.

Keiko Itokazu is a Japanese politician, an independent and member of the House of Councillors in the Diet. A native of Yomitan, Okinawa and high school graduate, she served in the assembly of Okinawa Prefecture for three terms, starting in 1992, and was elected to the House of Councillors for the first time in 2004. After running unsuccessfully for governorship of Okinawa Prefecture in 2006, she was re-elected to the House of Councillors in 2007.

Ferdinand August Maria Franz von Ritgen was a German obstetrician and naturalist born in the Westphalian village of Wulfen. He is remembered for instruction in the field of midwifery.
