Carol Leon Hale was an American journalist and author. He worked as a columnist for the Houston Chronicle from 1984 until his retirement in 2014. Before that, he had a column in the Houston Post for 32 years. He was also the author of eleven books.

Fabricio Alvarado Muñoz
Fabricio Gerardo Alvarado Muñoz is a Costa Rican politician, singer and undergraduate journalist. He was once a deputy in the Legislative Assembly, representing the San José Province. He is also a musician, having released a number of songs in the Christian genre. A member of the conservative National Restoration Party he was also the party's presidential nominee for the 2018 general election, ultimately losing to Carlos Alvarado Quesada. According to the BBC, his campaign gained in popularity because of his opposition to same-sex marriage. Alvarado Muñoz is a devout Evangelical Christian. On 23 October 2018 Alvarado announced his resignation to National Restoration Party and the start of a new party named New Republic. His campaign is under investigation by the Ministerio Público after the Tribunal Supremo de Elecciones reported that it had found three providers of services on the elections that had been paid by cash, something that is illegal in Costa Rica.

Christine Jorgensen
Christine Jorgensen was an American transgender woman who was the first person to become widely known in the United States for having sex reassignment surgery. Jorgensen grew up in the Bronx, New York City. Shortly after graduating from high school in 1945, she was drafted into the U.S. Army during World War II. After her military service, she attended several schools and worked; it is during this time she learned about sex reassignment surgery. Jorgensen traveled to Europe, and in Copenhagen, Denmark, obtained special permission to undergo a series of operations beginning in 1952.
