Antonio Staglianò was installed as Bishop of Noto, Sicily, Italy on 31 March 2009, replacing Mariano Crociata, who was appointed Secretary-General of the CEI. Before his appointment to lead the diocese of Noto, Staglianò was a clergyman of the Archdiocese of Crotone-Santa Severina.

Stanley Black OBE was an English bandleader, composer, conductor, arranger and pianist. He wrote and arranged many film scores, recording prolifically for the Decca label. Beginning with jazz collaborations with American musicians such as Coleman Hawkins and Benny Carter during the 1930s, he moved into arranging and recording in the Latin American music style and also won awards for his classical conducting.

Thor Pedersen is former member of Folketinget. He was representing the Liberal party, Venstre. He was Finance Minister from 27 November 2001 to 23 November 2007 as part of the Cabinets of Anders Fogh Rasmussen I and II. He was a Member of Parliament (Folketinget) from 1985 to 2011 and served as Speaker from 28 November 2007 until 15 September 2011.

Fritz John was a German-born mathematician specialising in partial differential equations and ill-posed problems. His early work was on the Radon transform and he is remembered for John's equation. He was a 1984 MacArthur Fellow.
