Louis-Jean-François Lagrenée was a French rococo painter and student of Carle van Loo. He won the Grand Prix de Rome for painting in 1749 and was elected a member of the Académie royale de peinture et de sculpture in 1755. His younger brother Jean-Jacques Lagrenée was also a painter.

Erik Peter Verlinde is a Dutch theoretical physicist and string theorist. He is the identical twin brother of physicist Herman Verlinde. The Verlinde formula, which is important in conformal field theory and topological field theory, is named after him. His research deals with string theory, gravity, black holes and cosmology. Currently, he works at the Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Amsterdam.

Neil Leon Rudenstine is an American scholar, literary scholar, and administrator. He served as president of Harvard University from 1991 to 2001.

Ivan Ribar was a Croatian politician who served in several governments of various form of Yugoslavia. Ideologically a Pan-Slavist and communist, Ribar was a prominent member of the Yugoslav partisans, who resisted the Nazi occupation of Yugoslavia.

Poul Christian Holst was a Norwegian government official who held several positions in the period 1814–1848. Holst led negotiations over debt with Denmark in 1817, after the dissolution of the union between the two countries in 1814.
