In 2014, she was included by Time magazine on its list of 100 Most Powerful People.

She is remembered through the story of the one thousand origami cranes she folded before her death, and is to this day a symbol of the innocent victims of nuclear warfare.

The case remains infamous as well since Hedin, as a police officer, was for an extended period assigned to investigate his own first murder, as well as for employing a medium, both essentially unique for a Swedish homicide investigation.

She played a striptease dancer in the 2010 film Le Mac. Most recently, she plays the butt-kicking girlfriend of David Belle's character in Brick Mansions, the last film Paul Walker completed before his death in 2013. John Thune
John Randolph Thune is an American politician serving as the senior United States Senator from South Dakota, a seat he was first elected to in 2004. A member of the Republican Party, he previously served as the U.S. Representative for South Dakota's at-large congressional district from 1997 to 2003. Thune became South Dakota's senior U.S. Senator with the retirement of Tim Johnson in 2015. He served as the GOP's Chief Deputy Whip in 2006, chairman of the Republican Policy Committee in June 2009, and Republican Conference Chairman in 2011, the third-ranking position in the Senate. He has worked in politics and civic organizations since completing his MBA graduate degree. He is also the current dean of South Dakota's congressional delegation. Thune was selected by the Senate Republican Conference to become the Majority Whip for the 116th Congress, succeeding Senator John Cornyn of Texas, who was term limited in the position. He is now the Minority Whip.

Donald Maynard Brashear is an American former professional ice hockey player who played for five organizations in the National Hockey League (NHL), in which he played the role of enforcer. He was among the NHL leaders in penalty minutes for six seasons, while ranking 15th all-time in penalty minutes. He remains the Vancouver Canucks all-time single season leader in penalty minutes, which he set in the 1997–98 season. He was involved in one of the most publicized incidents of on-ice violence in NHL history during the 1999–2000 season, when he was slashed in the head by Marty McSorley.
