Homen Borgohain was an eminent Assamese author and journalist. He had worked as the editor in chief of Assamese daily Niyomiya Barta until his death. He was awarded the 1978 Sahitya Akademi Award in Assamese language for his novel Pita Putra. Borgohain also wrote several novels, short stories and poetry. He was also the President of Assam Sahitya Sabha.
