Bernard Widrow is a U.S. professor of electrical engineering at Stanford University. He is the co-inventor of the Widrow–Hoff least mean squares filter (LMS) adaptive algorithm with his then doctoral student Ted Hoff. The LMS algorithm led to the ADALINE and MADALINE artificial neural networks and to the backpropagation technique. He made other fundamental contributions to the development of signal processing in the fields of geophysics, adaptive antennas, and adaptive filtering.

Nicholas Meyer is an American writer and director, known for his best-selling novel The Seven-Per-Cent Solution, and for directing the films Time After Time, two of the Star Trek feature films, the 1983 television film The Day After, and the 1999 HBO original film Vendetta.

Miguel Ángel Tabet Balady was a Venezuelan theologian, Catholic priest, author, and exegete. Tábet, who was of Lebanese Venezuelan descent, lived and worked in Rome, Italy. He was a professor of biblical hermeneutics, the study of the principles of interpretation of the Bible, at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome.

Abraham Knox was an American actor with nearly 80 films to his credit. He was also a screenwriter, film producer and novelist. Blacklisted during the McCarthy era, he moved to Paris and Rome to work. His screenwriter credits, where he adapted approximately 150 Italian and French into English translations, include the English adaptation of Sergio Leone's The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. As a dialogue director he coached many non-English speaking actors in performing convincingly in the English language.

Thomas C. Spencer is an American mathematical physicist, known in particular for important contributions to constructive quantum field theory, statistical mechanics, and spectral theory of random operators. He earned his doctorate in 1972 from New York University with a dissertation entitled Perturbation of the Po2 Quantum Field Hamiltonian written under the direction of James Glimm. Since 1986, he has been professor of mathematics at the Institute for Advanced Study. He is a member of the United States National Academy of Sciences, and the recipient of the Dannie Heineman Prize for Mathematical Physics.
