Emanuel Cleaver II is a United Methodist pastor and an American politician who is a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. Cleaver represents Missouri's 5th congressional district, elected in 2005. The district includes the southern three-fourths of Kansas City, including all of the city south of the Missouri River, as well as the more rural counties of Lafayette, Ray, and Saline east of Jackson. Cleaver is a member of the Democratic Party, and in January 2011, he became chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, a position he held until 2013.

Erik Harris is an American football free safety for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at California University of Pennsylvania. He has also been a member of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL) and the New Orleans Saints. Harris is known for playing many positions, including free and strong safety, halfback, cornerback, weakside linebacker and strong-side linebacker.

Ramin Bahrani is an Iranian-American director and screenwriter. Film critic Roger Ebert listed Bahrani's film Chop Shop (2007) as the sixth-best film of the 2000s and hailed Bahrani as "the new director of the decade." Bahrani was the recipient of the prestigious 2009 Guggenheim Fellowship. Bahrani is also a professor of film directing at the Columbia University School of the Arts, his alma mater.
