Elizarov Mikhail Yuryevich – is a modern Russian writer and singer-songwriter, laureate of the Russian Booker Prize in 2008 for the novel The Librarian.

Emanuel "Manny" Ax is a Grammy-winning American classical pianist. He is a teacher on the faculty of the Juilliard School.

Vyacheslav Anatoliyovych Shevchuk is a retired Ukrainian professional footballer and manager, mainly known for his time as a player of FC Shakhtar Donetsk. He was capped over 50 times for the Ukraine national football team.

Genrikh Samoilovich Lyushkov was an officer in the Soviet secret police and its highest-ranking defector. A high-ranking officer of the NKVD, he played a role in perpetrating Stalin's Great Purge. When, in 1938, he suspected he would soon fall victim to the purge, he fled to the Japanese. Thereafter, he acted as a major source of intelligence for Imperial Japan about the Soviet Union. At the end of World War II, he was killed by the Japanese in order to prevent him from falling back into Soviet hands.

Anatoliy Fedorovich Byshovets is a Russian football manager of Ukrainian origin and former Soviet international striker. He played his entire professional career with club side Dynamo Kyiv. He won Olympic gold as a coach with the Soviet team at the 1988 Summer Olympics. He was also a manager of the USSR, Russia, and South Korea national teams. At the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, he managed the South Korean U-23 team. He is one of the most successful modern Russian coaches.

Volodymyr Zamana is a Ukrainian colonel general, Chief of the General Staff in 2012-2014. On 19 February 2014, at the height of the February 2014 Euromaidan riots, president Viktor Yanukovych dismissed Zamana from his position as Chief of the General Staff, replacing him with pro-russian Admiral Yuriy Ilyin. After Yanukovych fled the country for Russia, Zamana was installed as a parliamentary commissioner in control of defence minister by the Parliament of Ukraine on 22 February 2014.

Ruslan Koshulynskyi is a Ukrainian politician, soldier and former Member of Parliament who served as the 9th Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada (2012-2014). He is also the Deputy Leader of Svoboda party.
