Maurice Audin was a French mathematics assistant at the University of Algiers, a member of the Algerian Communist Party and an activist in the anticolonialist cause, who died under torture by the French state during the Battle of Algiers.

Lina Ben Mhenni was a Tunisian Internet activist, blogger and lecturer in linguistics at Tunis University. She was internationally recognised for her work during the 2011 Tunisian revolution and in the following years.

Claude Bartolone is a Tunisian-born French politician who was President of the National Assembly of France from 2012 to 2017. A member of the Socialist Party, he was first elected to the National Assembly, representing the Seine-Saint-Denis department, in 1981. He served in the government as Delegate Minister for the City from 1998 to 2002, and he was President of the Seine-Saint-Denis General Council from 2008 to 2012.

Nabil Karoui is a Tunisian politician and businessman. One of the key figures in the Tunisian media landscape, Karoui is CEO of Karoui & Karoui World and owner of the Tunisian television station Nessma. Karoui ran as a candidate in the 2019 Tunisian presidential election, finishing in second place.

Amel Majri is a French-Tunisian professional footballer, who currently plays in the French First Division for Olympique Lyon, with whom she has also played the Champions League with, and won. She is naturally a midfielder, but has been playing as a left-back for Lyon in recent seasons. She also plays for the France national team.

Abdellatif Kechiche is a Tunisian-French actor, film director and screenwriter. He made his directorial debut in 2000 with La Faute à Voltaire, which he also wrote. His film Blue Is the Warmest Colour won the Palme d'Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.

Mohamed Moncef Marzouki is a Tunisian politician who was President of Tunisia from 2011 to 2014. Through his career he has been a human rights activist, physician and politician. On 12 December 2011, he was elected as President of Tunisia by the Constituent Assembly.

Hassen Chalghoumi is the imam of the municipal Drancy mosque in Seine-Saint-Denis, near Paris.

Philippe Séguin was a French political figure who was President of the National Assembly from 1993 to 1997 and President of the Cour des Comptes of France from 2004 to 2010.
