He was prime minister for 13 years and is the longest serving prime minister in Iran's history. He also served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance in Mansur's cabinet. After the Iranian Revolution, he was tried by the newly established Revolutionary Court for "waging war against God" and "spreading corruption on earth" and executed.

A popular actor in Iran, internationally he is known for collaborations with Iranian writer and director Asghar Farhadi in About Elly (2009), A Separation (2011), and The Salesman (2016). Sevda Alizadeh, known professionally as Sevdaliza, is an Iranian-Dutch singer, songwriter, record producer, visual artist, and director. In 2015, she released two EPs, The Suspended Kid and Children of Silk. While her music is typically in English, she released her first Persian-language song, "Bebin", in early 2017 in protest of Executive Order 13769. Her debut album, ISON, was published on 26 April 2017 via her record label, Twisted Elegance. In 2018, she released a third EP, The Calling, followed by her second studio album, Shabrang, in 2020.

Damian Ardestani, more known by the pseudonym and his artist name XOV is a Swedish Platinum-certified artist, songwriter and producer scoring chart successes in Europe. He has collaborated with Lorde on The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack where his song "Animal" is featured. He is also one of the two founders of I AM YOU, a renowned help organization with over 100 volunteers based in Lesvos, Greece.
