Wang Weizhong is a Chinese politician, and current Communist Party Secretary of Shenzhen and Deputy Party Secretary of Guangdong province. A graduate of Tsinghua University, Wang rose through the ranks in the working for the Ministry of Science and Technology. He previously served as Party chief of Taiyuan.

Nie Shicheng was a Chinese general who served the Imperial government during the Boxer Rebellion. Rising from obscure origins from Hefei, Anhui Province, in the early 1850s, Nie Shicheng managed to pass the county examinations for bureaucratic positions, but due to the Taiping rebellion he was forced to abandon a bureaucratic career and become a soldier.

Feng Xiaoting is a Chinese footballer who currently plays for Shanghai Greenland Shenhua in the Chinese Super League, on loan from Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao.

Zhang Liyin is a Chinese singer and songwriter. At the time of her debut, Zhang was nicknamed the "Chinese BoA" and the next leader of the Korean Wave. She speaks both Mandarin, which is her first language, and fluent Korean, and has released singles in both China and South Korea, singing in both languages.

Hou Baolin was a Chinese xiangsheng performer. He was one of his generation's most popular and influential xiangsheng performers and was mentor to many later xiangsheng performers. His apprentices include Ma Ji, Ding Guangquan, Shi Shengjie, and Wu Zhaonan. He was the father of Hou Yaohua and Hou Yaowen.

Wang Yong is a Chinese politician. He has been serving since 2013 as a State Councilor and is the former Chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC). From September 2008 to August 2010 he was the Director of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) and in 2010, he was named by Forbes Magazine the 62nd World's Most Powerful Person.

Ma Jun, courtesy name Deheng, was a Chinese mechanical engineer, inventor, and politician who lived in the state of Cao Wei during the Three Kingdoms period of China. His most notable invention was that of the south-pointing chariot, a directional compass vehicle which actually had no magnetic function, but was operated by use of differential gears. It is because of this revolutionary device that Ma Jun is known as one of the most brilliant mechanical engineers and inventors of his day. The device was re-invented by many after Ma Jun, including the astronomer and mathematician Zu Chongzhi (429–500). In the later medieval dynastic periods, Ma Jun's south-pointing chariot was combined in a single device with the distance-measuring odometer.
