Stephen Michael Kosslyn is an American psychologist, neuroscientist, and expert on the cognitive science. Kosslyn is president of Active Learning Sciences, Inc., which helps institutions design active-learning based courses and educational programs. He is also founder and chief academic officer of Foundry College, an online two-year college designed to help working adults develop skills and knowledge that will not be automated in the foreseeable future. Prior to that, Kosslyn was founding dean and chief academic officer of the Minerva Schools at KGI. And before that, he was the John Lindsley Professor of Psychology in Memory of William James and Dean of Social Science at Harvard University.

Dwijendra Kumar Ray-Chaudhuri is a professor emeritus at Ohio State University. He and his student R. M. Wilson together solved Kirkman's schoolgirl problem in 1968 which contributed to developments in design theory.

Alexander Alexandrovich Bessmertnykh is a Soviet diplomat who briefly served as foreign minister of the Soviet Union.

Ernst Ottwalt was the pen name of German writer and playwright Ernst Gottwalt Nicolas. A communist, he fled Nazi Germany in 1934 and went into exile in the Soviet Union, where he fell victim to the Great Purge and died in a Soviet gulag. Later, when the Allies of World War II prosecuted Nazi war criminals in the Nuremberg Trials, the chief prosecutor from the Soviet Union quoted from an anti-Nazi book by Ottwalt.

Hennadiy Valentynovych Avdyeyenko is a retired high jumper who represented the USSR and later Ukraine. He trained at the Armed Forces sports society in Odessa. He won gold medals at both the Olympics and the World Championships.
