Aung San Suu Kyi is a Burmese politician, diplomat, author, and a 1991 Nobel Peace Prize laureate who served as State Counsellor of Myanmar from 2016 to 2021. As the leader of the National League for Democracy and the first State Counsellor, she played a vital role in Myanmar's transition from military junta to partial democracy in the 2010s, but was detained and removed from office in a coup d'état on 1 February 2021.

Vijay Ramniklal Rupani is an Indian politician from the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is serving as Chief Minister of Gujarat since 7 August 2016, and is a member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly representing Rajkot West.

He previously served as the acting president after the resignation of President Htin Kyaw on 21 March 2018, and the chief minister of Yangon Region from 30 March 2011 to 30 March 2016. On 30 March 2016, he was sworn in as the vice president of Myanmar. He is an ethnic Mon ex-military officer in the Myanmar Army with the rank of a lieutenant general.

Yone Lay is a Burmese singer, actor and director. He has achieved fame as a singer and actor. In August 2020, he was highly criticized after releasing a music video depicting the assassination of Myanmar's defacto leader and State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi.

Wirathu is a Burmese Buddhist monk, and the leader of the 969 movement in Myanmar. He has been accused of conspiring to persecute Muslims in Myanmar through his speeches, although he claims to be a peaceful preacher and not to have advocated violence—which is disputed by others. Facebook banned his page on the charge of spreading religious hatred towards other communities, after repeated warnings to not post religiously inflammatory content.
