Alfred Marie-Jeanne is a French politician, a leader in the Martinican Independence Movement (MIM) since 1978. He served as mayor of the commune of Rivière-Pilote from 1971 to 2000 and served as President of the Regional Council of Martinique from March 20, 1998 to March 22, 2010. Alfred Marie-Jeanne represented Martinique's 1st constituency in the French National Assembly from 2012 to 2017. He was succeeded in this constituency by Josette Manin.

Gérard Janvion is a French former professional footballer who played as a defender. A French international from 1975 to 1982 he made 40 appearances for the France national team. Having started his senior career in 1972 at Saint-Étienne he went on to spend most of playing days there before joining Paris Saint-Germain in 1983. He retired from playing in 1987 after a two-year stint with Béziers.

He was mayor of the city of Sainte-Luce from 21 March 1965 to 1 July 1990, general councilor from 1964 to 1994, regional councilor from 1983 to 1985, and deputy for Martinique from 16 March 1986 to 14 May 1988, at the end of the legislature. He was also president of the urban community SIVOM SUD and of the association of mayors of Martinique from 1977 to 1990. He was born in Riviere-Pilote, Martinique. He died at age 101 on 9 May 2021 in Fort-de-France.
