Mathilda Marie Berthilde Paruta, better known as Darling Légitimus, was a French actress. In 1983, she received the Volpi Cup for Best Actress for her performance in the film Sugar Cane Alley.

Paul Chillan was a French footballer who played as a forward in over 200 matches for French Ligue 1 club Nîmes between 1959 and 1967. He was born in La Trinité, Martinique, and made two appearances for the France national team in 1963.

Serge Letchimy is a member of the National Assembly of France. He represents the island of Martinique's 3rd constituency since June 2007, and is a member of the Socialiste, radical, citoyen et divers gauche parliamentary group. Letchimy is a member of the Martinican Progressive Party (PPM), or Parti progressiste martiniquais. He was the successor of Aimé Césaire as Mayor of Fort de France from 2001 to 2010 and was the final President of the Regional Council of Martinique from 26 March 2010 until its replacement by the Assembly of Martinique in December 2015.

Ronald Pognon is a French sprint athlete. He originally specialized in the 200 metres, but later shifted to the shorter sprint distances. He was formerly the European record holder for the 60 metres indoors and is the first Frenchman to go under 10 seconds at the 100 metres.
