Giuseppe Maria Brignole-Sale (1703–1769) was a Genoese nobleman and father of Maria Caterina Brignole, Princess of Monaco and later Princess of Condé. He was the 7th Marquess of Groppoli. The reigning Albert II of Monaco is a direct descendant.

Ferdinando "Fred" Buscaglione was an Italian singer and actor who became very popular in the late 1950s. His public persona – the character he played both in his songs and his movies – was of a humorous mobster with a penchant for whisky and women.

He was a senator in Legislature II (1953–1958), Legislature III, Legislature IV, Legislature V and Legislature VI (1972–1976).

Corrado Bafile was an Italian Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church who served as Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints from 1975 to 1980, and was elevated to the cardinalate in 1976. At the time of his death, he was the oldest member of the College of Cardinals.
