Abbé Jacques Testu de Belval was a French ecclesiastic and poet. Best known for his light poetry, he was also a preacher, translator and king's almoner. He was linked with Madame de Sévigné, Madame de Coulanges, Madame de Brancas, Madame de Schomberg, Madame de La Fayette and Marie-Madeleine de Rochechouart, abbess of Fontevrault Abbey. He was elected to the Académie française in 1665 and received in May that year.

Joseph-Alfred Foulon was a French Roman Catholic Cardinal and Archbishop of Lyon.

Jacques Varennes was a French film actor who appeared in around seventy films during his career. He appeared in Maurice Tourneur's 1938 historical film The Patriot.

Henri Louis Hérouin, Sr. was a French competitor in the sport of archery. Hérouin won the first prize, and is now considered by the International Olympic Committee to have won the gold medal, in the 50 metre Au Cordon Doré event at the first Olympic appearance of archery, in the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris. His score of 31 put him 2 points above his closest competitor Hubert Van Innis.
