Jürgen Mlynek is a German physicist and was president of the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres from 2005 to 2015.

Klaus-Peter Thaler was a professional cyclist between 1976 and 1988, successful in road-racing and cyclo-cross. He was world cyclo-cross champion twice as amateur and twice as professional and German champion eight times.

Judith Arndt is a retired German professional cyclist, who last rode for the GreenEDGE-AIS cycling team. She won the bronze medal in the 3000 m pursuit event at the 1996 Summer Olympics when she was 20. In 2004, she won the world road race championship and came second in the Olympic road race.

Paul Josef Cordes is a German Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as President of the Pontifical Council Cor Unum (1995–2010), and was elevated to the rank of cardinal in 2007.

Jürgen W. Heike was a German politician. A member of the Christian Social Union in Bavaria, he served in the Landtag of Bavaria from 1994 to 2018. He died in Neustadt bei Coburg on 15 March 2022, at the age of 73.
