Peter Frenkel is an East German athlete who was one of the best 20 km race walkers in the world in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Michael Glos is a German politician of the Christian Social Union (CDU) who served as Minister for Economics and Technology in the government of Chancellor Angela Merkel from 22 November 2005 until 10 February 2009.

Hermann Rappe was a German politician and trade unionist who served in the Bundestag from 1972 to 1998. He died on 30 January 2022, at the age of 92.

Franz Keller was a West German nordic combined skier. At the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble, he won the gold medal in the individual event. Keller also won a silver at the 1966 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in the individual event and won the event at the Holmenkollen ski festival in 1967.

Jürgen Stark is a German economist who has been a member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank (ECB) from June 2006, but announced in September 2011 he would resign later that year. Within the Executive Board he is responsible for Economics and for Monetary Analysis and is often referred to as the "chief economist" of the ECB, although this is not his official title.

Katja Becker is a German physician and biochemist. From 2009 to 2012 she was the vice president for research at Justus Liebig University in Giessen, Germany. From 2020 on she will serve as the president of the German Research Foundation where she had previously served as a vice president from 2014-2019. From 2015-2017 she was a German representative on the scientific committee of the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST).
