Godefroy de La Tour d'Auvergne was a member of the House of La Tour d'Auvergne, the Sovereign Dukes of Bouillon. He was subsequently the penultimate Duke of Bouillon succeeding his father in 1771.

Anne d'Ornano was the President of the General Council of the French department of Calvados. She has been President of the department since 1991. She was a member of the Union for French Democracy (UDF) until the UDF dissolved in 2007, and she did not join either of the UDF's claimed successors: the New Centre and the MoDem. Unlike most centrists, she supported Nicolas Sarkozy by the first round of the 2007 election, over UDF candidate François Bayrou. However, she is not a member of Sarkozy's Union for a Popular Movement (UMP).

Alan fitz Flaad was a Breton knight, probably recruited as a mercenary by Henry I in his conflicts with his brothers. After Henry became King of England, Alan became an assiduous courtier and obtained large estates in Norfolk, Sussex, Shropshire, and elsewhere in the Midlands, including the feudal barony and castle of Oswestry in Shropshire. His duties included supervision of the Welsh border. He is now noted as the progenitor of the FitzAlan family, the Earls of Arundel (1267–1580), and the House of Stuart, although his family connections were long a matter of conjecture and controversy.
