Aldo Andretti was an Italian-born American racing driver and entrepreneur, the twin brother of Mario Andretti and the father of Carolyn Andretti Molander, Mark Andretti, the late John Andretti, Mary Jo Andretti Dial, and Adam Andretti. He was the uncle of Michael Andretti and Jeff Andretti, great-uncle of Marco Andretti, and grandfather of Jarett Andretti. Aldo and Mario were identical twins. However, due to facial reconstructive surgery following a major racing accident, Aldo did not look identical to Mario.

He authored several industry-defining books with makeup techniques including facial contouring, which was relatively unknown in popular culture at the time, but pioneered and used in drag culture and stage makeup for decades prior. Aucoin, often noted as being decades ahead of his contemporaries, is considered to be one of, if not the greatest make-up artist of the modern age.
