Juan María Emery Alza was a Spanish footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He spent most of his career in Segunda División, appearing in 204 games over 14 seasons.

Duncan Franklin Rousseau was a Canadian professional ice hockey forward. He played 135 games in the World Hockey Association (WHA) with the Winnipeg Jets.

Cai Shenxi was a general officer in the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army during the Chinese Civil War. He was born in Liling, Hunan. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1924. In 1926, he participated in the Northern Expedition. In August 1927, he participated in the Nanchang Uprising. He fought against the Kuomintang at Sanhe, Dabu County, Guangdong. In December 1927, he participated in the Guangzhou Uprising. He led the attack on Xiajiang County, Jiangxi in November 1929. He was killed in action in Hong'an County, Hubei.

Nie Er, born Nie Shouxin, courtesy name Ziyi, was a Chinese composer best known for "March of the Volunteers", the national anthem of China. In numerous Shanghai magazines, he went by the English name George Njal, after a character in Njal's Saga.

Floride Bonneau Calhoun was the wife of prominent U.S. politician John C. Calhoun. She is best known for her leading role in the Petticoat affair, which occurred during her husband's service as vice president of the United States. In that role, Mrs. Calhoun led the wives of other Cabinet members in ostracizing Peggy Eaton, the wife of Secretary of War John Eaton, whom they considered a woman of low morals. The affair helped damage relations between John C. Calhoun and President Andrew Jackson, and effectively ended any legitimate chance of him becoming president of the United States.
