George Mercer Dawson was a Canadian geologist and surveyor. He was born in Pictou, Nova Scotia, the eldest son of Sir John William Dawson, Principal of McGill University and a noted geologist, and his wife, Lady Margaret Dawson. By age 11, he was afflicted with tuberculosis of the spine that resulted in a deformed back and stunted growth. Physical limitations, however, did not deter Dawson from becoming one of Canada's greatest scientists.

Nick Auf der Maur was a journalist, politician and "man about town" boulevardier in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He was also the father of rock musician Melissa Auf der Maur, through his marriage to Linda Gaboriau.

Martin Villeneuve is a French Canadian screenwriter, producer, director, actor, and art director. He is known for the Imelda Trilogy of short films, in which he portrays his own grandmother. He was nominated at the Canadian Screen Award in 2013 for Best Adapted Screenplay, for Mars et Avril, his feature film debut, and Quebec's first true science fiction movie. Villeneuve is the first, TED speaker to come out of Quebec. He has also worked for Cirque du Soleil as an artistic director for commercials and film.

Françoise Riopelle is a Canadian Québécoise dancer and choreographer from Montreal, Quebec. She is considered one of the pioneers of modern dance in Quebec. Riopelle was also a dedicated activist, associated with the Automatistes, and was one of sixteen signatories to the Refus Global in 1948.

Jay Silverheels was an Indigenous Canadian actor and athlete. He was well known for his role as Tonto, the Native American companion of the Lone Ranger in the American western television series The Lone Ranger.
