Katarína Hasprová is a singer from Slovakia, best-known outside her home country for singing "Modlitba" at the Eurovision Song Contest 1998.

Ondrej Nepela was a Slovak figure skater who represented Czechoslovakia. He was the 1972 Olympic champion, a three-time World champion (1971–73), and a five-time European champion (1969–73). Later in his career, he performed professionally and became a coach.

Monika Fašungová is a Slovak badminton player. She started playing badminton in 2001, and has join the national team in 2005. In 2009, she won her first national champion in the women's singles event. She competed for Slovakia at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Viera Tomanová is a Slovak politician, former Minister of Labour of Slovakia under Prime Minister Robert Fico. As a Minister she became known for her wild statements and many controversies, claiming her dog was poisoned in her house, prompting Prime Minister Fico to accuse Slovak journalists of the deed. She was popular among the elderly citizens for establishing "Christmas pensions", 13th state pensions issued out in December.

Archduke Joseph Karl of Austria was a member of the Habsburg-Lorraine dynasty. He was the second son of Archduke Joseph, Palatine of Hungary and Duchess Maria Dorothea of Württemberg.

Peter Velits is a Slovakian former professional road racing cyclist. His career highlights included third place overall and a stage win at the 2010 Vuelta a España, the 2007 World Under-23 Road Race Championships gold and the 2012 Tour of Oman overall victory. Velits was also known as strong time-trialist, winning three consecutive team time trials as a part of Omega Pharma–Quick-Step in 2012 and 2013 and riding on the BMC Racing Team in 2014 UCI Road World Championships. His twin brother, Martin Velits also competed professionally, having raced on the same teams every year until the end of the 2013 season.
