Juan Manuel Gárate Cepa is a Spanish professional road racing cyclist, who last rode for the Belkin Pro Cycling team. He is perceived to be a climbing specialist, and to date his greatest achievements have been in the Giro d'Italia, where he placed fourth overall in 2002, tenth overall in the 2004, fifth overall in 2005 and won the Mountains classification with a seventh overall at the 2006 Giro d'Italia. He also won the Spanish National Championship road race in 2005. He has also won stages in the Tour de Suisse, the Vuelta a España, the Giro del Trentino and more recently he finished first on Mont Ventoux in the penultimate stage of the Tour de France 2009.

Izaskun Uranga Amézaga is a Spanish musician, who with her two sisters Estibaliz Uranga and Amaya Uranga formed the group "Las Hermanas Urangas", which became "Voces y Guitarras" and, in 1969, the well-known Spanish folk group Mocedades.

María Soledad Iparraguirre Guenechea, known as "Marisol" until 1994 and "Anboto" thereafter, is a senior figure in the Basque separatist group ETA and the second woman, after Dolores González Cataráin, to be a member of ETA's executive. Arrested in October 2004, in December 2010 she was sentenced by French courts to 20 years in prison.

Elisabeth "Eli" Pinedo Sáenz is a retired Spanish handball player. She was part of the Spanish team at the 2008 European Women's Handball Championship, where the Spanish team reached the final, after defeating Germany in the semifinal. She also competed at the 2011 World Women's Handball Championship in Brazil, where the Spanish team placed third.
