List of Famous people born in Austria

Henri Herz was a virtuoso pianist, composer and piano manufacturer, Austrian by birth and French by nationality and domicile. He was a professor in the Paris Conservatoire for more than thirty years. Among his major works are eight piano concertos, a piano sonata, rondos, nocturnes, waltzes, marches, fantasias, and numerous sets of variations.

Matthias Buxhofer is an Austrian former professional road racing cyclist. Professional from 2000 to 2005, he rode in the 2002 Giro d'Italia, finishing 55th overall. He also competed in the road race at the 2000 Summer Olympics, and finished in 51st place.

Edi Rada was an Austrian figure skater. He won the bronze medal at the 1948 Winter Olympics and was the 1949 European Champion. He won a bronze medal at the 1949 World Figure Skating Championships.

Matthias Krizek is an Austrian cyclist, who most recently rode for UCI Continental team Felbermayr–Simplon Wels. He won the Austrian National Road Race Championships in 2011.

Martin Johann Schmidt, called Kremser Schmidt or Kremserschmidt,, was one of the outstanding Austrian painters of the late Baroque/Rococo along with Franz Anton Maulbertsch.

Maximilian Kuen is an Austrian cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Continental team Team Vorarlberg–Santic.

René Haselbacher is an Austrian retired professional road bicycle racer. He rode for major teams Gerolsteiner and Astana, and took national titles in both road racing and the time trial. He won the Austrian National Road Race Championships in 2002. He left Vorarlberg–Corratec in the summer of 2010, and retired the following year, when he moved to South Africa.
