Mohamed Raouraoua is the former president of the Algerian Football Federation and the vice-president of the Union of Arab Football Associations.

Malika Gaïd (1933–1957) was an Algerian nurse who joined the National Liberation Army (ALN) to care for the wounded and to fight for independence from the French during the Algerian War in 1955. In June 1958, she was shot dead by a French soldier while defending the wounded in a cave near M'Chedallah. Gaïd is now remembered as one of the heroic martyrs of Algerian independence. Along with other martyrs, she was commemorated in a series of postage stamps in 2019.

Major-General Khaled Nezzar is an Algerian general and former member of the High Council of State of Algeria. He was born in the douar of Thlet, in Seriana in the Batna region. His father, Rahal Nezzar, was a former non-commissioned officer in the French army who had turned to farming after World War II. His mother died in 1941.

Kenza Farah is a Franco-Algerian singer-songwriter. Her album Authentik won gold in its second week. It was followed up by Avec le coeur and Trésor.

Adel Amrouche is an Algerian football manager and former player who manages the Botswana national team.

Amirouche Aït Hamouda, commonly called Colonel Amirouche, was a leader in the Algerian War, organizing the maquis of the Wilaya III. He is considered a national hero in Algeria.

Islam Belouizdad better known as Hayce Lemsi is an Algerian-French rapper and singer. He has also used the stage names L'insomniak, La Kalash Humaine, Big Lemsi and Biko Loco.

Djamel Beghal is an Algerian terrorist convict. He married Sylvie, a French citizen, in 1990, while working as a youth worker in Corbeil-Essonnes. In 1997, he moved his family to Leicester, where Sylvie still lives with their four children.
