List of Famous people who born in 1939

Aras Ören is a writer of Turkish origin, currently living in Germany. He was born in November 1939 in Istanbul, and moved to Berlin in 1969. He was editor of the SFB and head of the Turkish editorial team of Radio Multikulti of the RBB. In 1981, he received an honorary prize from the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts. In 1985, he was awarded the Adelbert von Chamisso Prize. In 1999 he was a lecturer at the University of Tübingen. Since 2012 he has been a member of the Akademie der Künste, Berlin.

Quincy Thomas Troupe, Jr. is an American poet, editor, journalist and professor emeritus at the University of California, San Diego, in La Jolla, California. He is best known as the biographer of Miles Davis, the jazz musician.

Marwan Mohammad Ali Hamadé is a Lebanese journalist and politician, who served in various capacities in different cabinets, including minister of education, minister of telecommunications, minister of economy and trade, minister of tourism, minister of health and minister for the displaced. He served as a Member of the Lebanese parliament until his resignation, on 5th August 2020, after the 2020 Beirut explosions, due to the government being "ineffective".

Maurice de Germiny has been the bishop of Blois from 1997 to 2014. He hails from a French aristocratic family. One of his ancestors was a French ambassador to the Sublime Porte in the sixteenth century.
