Baroness Gratia Maria Margretha, Baroness Schimmelpenninck van der Oye was a Dutch alpine skier. Her father was president of the Dutch National Olympic Committee during the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam and a long-term member of the International Olympic Committee. Gratia reached sixth place at the world championships and won two major ski races, in St. Anton and Kitzbühel. She competed at the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, finishing 14th in the alpine combined event. Despite her two falls, this remains the highest ranking in Olympic skiing reached by a Dutch national.

Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt Jr. was a member of the prominent Vanderbilt family, a son of the first Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt, who died a hero in the sinking of the RMS Lusitania. His mother, Margaret Emerson, was one of America's wealthiest women and most sought-after hostesses, operating at least seven large estates around the country. His grandfather, Cornelius Vanderbilt II, had been one of America's most revered businessmen; his great-grandfather, William Henry Vanderbilt had been the richest man in the world. "Commodore" Cornelius Vanderbilt started the family fortune in shipping and railroads as the founder of the New York Central Railroad and builder of Grand Central Depot, the precursor to Grand Central Terminal, built on approximately the same location, and completed by Cornelius II in 1913.

Barbara Wertheim Tuchman was an American historian and author. She won the Pulitzer Prize twice, for The Guns of August (1962), a best-selling history of the prelude to and the first month of World War I, and Stilwell and the American Experience in China (1971), a biography of General Joseph Stilwell.

Commander Henry Alexander Stuart-Menteth, was a British naval officer famous for his service in the Royal Navy, particularly during the Second World War where he assisted in the sinking of two U-boats and helped capture Enigma code fragments, which enabled Bletchley Park to decipher the code. He commanded six ships during his career. He married in 1952, having two sons and a daughter, and seven grandchildren in turn.

Jacques de Bourbon, Count de Busset was a French novelist, essayist and politician. He was elected to the Académie française on 4 June 1981. He was a senior member of the House of Bourbon-Busset.

Aliki, Lady Russell, née Aliki Diplarakou, was the first Greek contestant to win the Miss Europe title. She previously won the "Miss Hellas" title at the Miss Star Hellas Pageant. Her name has been spelled in various ways, from Alice Diplarakou to Aliki Diplearakos and Aliki Diplarakos.
