Kieran Smith is an American swimmer specializing in freestyle and individual medley events. He is the American record and US Open record holder in the 500 yard freestyle. He won a gold medal in the 4×200 meter freestyle relay at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships. At the 2021 World Short Course Championships, Smith won a gold medal and set an American record as part of the 4×200 metre freestyle relay. He competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, winning the bronze Olympic medal in the 400 meter freestyle, placing sixth in the 200 meter freestyle and fourth in the 4×200 meter freestyle relay. At the 2017 FINA World Junior Swimming Championships, he won the silver medal in the 200 meter individual medley. He competes collegiately for the Florida Gators.

Oil futures drunk-trading incident
The oil futures drunk-trading incident was an incident in which Stephen Perkins, an employee of London-based PVM Oil Futures, traded 7 million barrels of oil, worth approximately US$520 million in a two-and-half-hour period in the early morning of 30 June 2009 while drunk. These unauthorised trades caused the price of Brent Crude oil to rise by over $1.50 a barrel within a short period of time, a trend generally associated with major geopolitical events, before dropping rapidly. As a result of the trading, PVM Oil Futures suffered losses of almost $10 million and Perkins was dismissed, later being banned from trading by the Financial Services Authority (FSA).

Pranav Dhanawade is an Indian cricketer from Kalyan, Maharashtra. Batting in one innings, stretching over 4 and 5 January 2016, he became the first person to score more than 1,000 runs in one innings in an officially recognised match. He scored 1,009 not out, from 323 balls, for K. C. Gandhi High School of the Kalyan administrative district. Dhanawade broke the 116-year-old record of 628 not out, set by the English schoolboy A. E. J. Collins in 1899.
