Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Joan Ruth Bader Ginsburg was an American lawyer and jurist who served as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States from 1993 until her death in September 2020. She was nominated by President Bill Clinton, replacing retiring justice Byron White, and at the time was generally viewed as a moderate consensus-builder. She eventually became part of the liberal wing of the Court as the Court shifted to the right over time. Ginsburg was the first Jewish woman and the second woman to serve on the Court, after Sandra Day O'Connor. During her tenure, Ginsburg wrote notable majority opinions, including United States v. Virginia (1996), Olmstead v. L.C. (1999), Friends of the Earth, Inc. v. Laidlaw Environmental Services, Inc. (2000), and City of Sherrill v. Oneida Indian Nation of New York (2005).

Ruth Isabel Moschner is a German TV presenter and actress. She was a judge in the first season of the German talent show Das Supertalent, but was replaced by Sylvie van der Vaart in the second season. She also appeared in Big Brother Germany and the comedy show Freitag Nacht News. In 2006, she won a German version of the Dancing on Ice. She has twice been nominated for the Deutschen Comedy-Preis.

Ruth Madoff is the wife of Bernie Madoff, the convicted American financial fraudster who is serving a prison sentence for a criminal financial scheme. After her husband's arrest for his fraud, she and her husband attempted suicide in 2008. While she had $70 million in assets in her name, after her husband was sentenced she was stripped of all of her money other than $1–2 million, by the government and by the trustee for her husband's firm, Irving Picard.

She served as Leader of the Scottish Conservative Party from 2011 to 2019. She has been a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) since 2011, first as an additional member for the Glasgow region and later for the Edinburgh Central constituency since 2016.

Ruth Gemmell is an English actress, known for her role in the 1997 film Fever Pitch. She is also known for her work on the television show Utopia as Jen Dugdale and the role of Carly Beaker in the Tracy Beaker franchise. In 1996, Gemmell appeared in eight episodes of the television show Silent Witness as Detective Constable Kerry Cox, then as other characters in single episodes in 2006 and 2014. Gemmell has also guest starred in several shows, including Casualty during 2014 and an episode of Midsomer Murders in 2015. She has been a leading character in the ITV series Home Fires, playing the role of cleric's wife Sarah Collingbourne.

She represented Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with the song "Dancing In The Rain", which entered the Spanish Singles Chart at number 5. She scored 74 points for Spain, finishing in 10th place.
