Ronald F. Inglehart was an American political scientist and professor emeritus at the University of Michigan. He was director of the World Values Survey, a global network of social scientists who have carried out representative national surveys of the publics of over 100 societies on all six inhabited continents, containing 90 percent of the world's population. The first wave of surveys for this project was carried out in 1981 and the latest wave was completed in 2019. Since 2010 Inglehart has also been co-director of the Laboratory for Comparative Social Research at the National Research University - Higher School of Economics in Moscow and St Petersburg. This laboratory has carried out surveys in Russia and eight ex-Soviet countries and is training PhD-level students in quantitative cross-national research methods. Inglehart died on 8 May 2021.

Ronald Dowl Moore is an American screenwriter and television producer. He is best known for his work on Star Trek; on the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica television series, for which he won a Peabody Award and an Emmy Award; and on Outlander, based on the novels of Diana Gabaldon. In 2019, he created and wrote the series For All Mankind for Apple TV+.

Ronald Lawrence Mallett is an American theoretical physicist, academic and author. He has been a faculty member of the University of Connecticut since 1975 and is best known for his scientific position on the possibility of time travel.

Sir Ronald Aylmer Fisher was a British statistician, geneticist, and academic. For his work in statistics, he has been described as "a genius who almost single-handedly created the foundations for modern statistical science" and "the single most important figure in 20th century statistics". In genetics, his work used mathematics to combine Mendelian genetics and natural selection; this contributed to the revival of Darwinism in the early 20th-century revision of the theory of evolution known as the modern synthesis. For his contributions to biology, Fisher has been called "the greatest of Darwin’s successors".

Ronald Richter (1909–1991) was an Austrian-born German, later became Argentine citizen, a scientist who became infamous in connection with the Argentine Huemul Project and the National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA). The project was intended to generate energy from nuclear fusion in the 1950s, during the presidency of Juan Perón. Richter's project would deliver—according to Perón's 1951 announcements—cheap energy in half-litre and one-litre containers.

Ronald Charles D. Breslow was an American chemist from Rahway, New Jersey. He was University Professor at Columbia University, where he was based in the Department of Chemistry and affiliated with the Departments of Biological Sciences and Pharmacology; he had also been on the faculty of its Department of Chemical Engineering. He had taught at Columbia since 1956 and was a former chair of the university's chemistry department.

Ronald Reng is a German sports journalist and author. Of his books, two have been translated to English and both of them have been honored with book awards in the UK. The Keeper of Dreams, the story of the German goalkeeper Lars Leese who ended up playing for Barnsley Football Club in the Premier League, won the Sports Book of the Year Award in 2004. It was the first foreign book to win the award. Reng's biography of the late German national goalkeeper Robert Enke, A Life too Short: The Tragedy of Robert Enke was voted William Hill Sports Book of the Year in 2011. Reng was the first non-English speaking author in 23 years to win the award. In Germany, Reng won seven times, between 2001 and 2010, the award for the best sports story of the year by the Association of German Sports Writers. In 2010 he was awarded the Dietrich Oppenberg Media Award "for outstanding journalistic contributions to promote the culture of reading."

Ronald Lee Ridenhour was a young GI who served in the 11th Infantry Brigade during the Vietnam War, and played a central role in spurring the investigation of the Mỹ Lai massacre.
