Robert Simson was a Scottish mathematician and professor of mathematics at the University of Glasgow. The Simson line is named after him.

Robert William Service was a British-Canadian poet and writer, often called "the Bard of the Yukon".

Robert de Cotte was a French architect-administrator, under whose design control of the royal buildings of France from 1699, the earliest notes presaging the Rococo style were introduced. First a pupil of Jules Hardouin-Mansart, he later became his brother-in-law and his collaborator. After Hardouin-Mansart's death, de Cotte completed his unfinished projects, notably the royal chapel at Versailles and the Grand Trianon.

Robert Reinick was a German painter and poet, associated with the Düsseldorf school of painting. One of his poems, Dem Vaterland, was set to music by Hugo Wolf. He wrote the libretto to Schumann's opera Genoveva.

Robert Frazen, A.C.E., is an American film and television editor. He was nominated for the 1995 ACE Eddie Award for Best Edited One-Hour Series for Television for My So-Called Life and won a 2000 ACE Eddie Award for Best Edited Episode from a Television Mini-Series for The '60s. In addition to this, Frazen won the Satellite Award for Best Editing for his work on Nicole Holofcener's Please Give. Frazen is represented by ICM.
