Lisa Loomer is an American playwright and screenwriter who has also worked as an actress and stand-up comic. She is best known for her play The Waiting Room (1994), in which three women from different time periods meet in a modern doctor's waiting room, each suffering from the effects of their various societies' cosmetic body modification practices. She also co-wrote the screenplay for the film Girl Interrupted. Many of her plays deal with the experiences of Latinx and immigrant characters. Others deal with social and political issues through the lens of contemporary family life. Beyond that, Loomer's play The Waiting Room discusses issues such as body image, breast cancer, and non-Western medicine.

Lisa Kathleen Phillips Honan was the Governor of Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha from 26 April 2016 until 11 May 2019, when she was replaced by Philip Rushbrook. She is the first, and currently only, female to have held the post. Honan was previously Head of Office in Kenya for the Department for International Development, and currently holds the same position in Nepal.

In 2015, she introduced a "mobile doctor's practice" in the Tübingen district to treat refugees in their emergency shelters as well as homeless people. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it became a mobile fever and diagnostic clinic. With the test strategy she had initiated, she adapted the Tübingen model for targeted pandemic control. In 2020, she was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit for her commitment.
