Johann Simon von Kerner was a German botanist and botanical illustrator, notable for his illustrations in Hortus sempervirens. Hortus sempervirens: exhibens icones plantarum selectiorum quotquot ad vivorum exemplorum normam reddere licuit. Stuttgartiae was 12 volumes published between 1795–1830 and issued in 71 fascicles with separate title pages, comprising 12 plates each. Plates accompanied by descriptive letterpress. 851 leaves of plates.

Mayer's research in experimental physics and astronomy appeared in Annalen der Physik. He is not to be confused with his famous father, the astronomer Tobias Mayer.

Johann Stephan Pütter was a German law lecturer and publicist. He was professor of law at the university of Göttingen from 1746 until his death. He exerted great influence on the law institutions of his time. His principal work is Historische Entwicklung der heutigen Staatsverfassung des Deutschen Reichs.
