Jan Carolus Josephus van Speijk, also written Van Speyk, was a Dutch naval lieutenant who became a hero in the Netherlands for his opposition to the Belgian Revolution.

Jan Anthonie Bruijn is a Dutch politician and physician serving as President of the Senate since 2 July 2019. A member of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), he has been a member of the Senate since 6 November 2012. He previously was a professor of medicine at Leiden University.

Jan Langedijk was a Dutch speed skater who competed at the 1936 and 1948 Winter Olympics. In 1936 he finished 24th in the 500 m, 14th in the 1500 m, fourth in the 5000 m and sixth in the 10,000 m event. Twelve years later he placed 29th in the 500 m, 13th in the 1500 m, fifth in the 5000 m and sixth in the 10,000 m events. Domestically he won the Dutch allround titles in 1940 and 1947.

Jan van Aken is a Dutch writer, who worked in the cultural sector and in automation. He is currently a professor at the Schrijversvakschool in Amsterdam.
