Jan Kazimierz Denhoff (1649–1697) was a Polish cardinal from 1686, Abbot of the Mogiła Abbey in 1666, canon of Warsaw, Dean of Płock, a canon of Kraków in 1681 and Bishop of Cesena in 1688. He is the author of several theological works.

Jean II Carondelet, was a Burgundian cleric, politician, jurist and one of the most important advisors to Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor. He was a patron of the Dutch philosopher Erasmus and a brother of the Habsburg diplomat Ferry Carondelet.

Jan Pellervo Vapaavuori is a Finnish politician, the former Minister of Economic Affairs, and mayor of Helsinki as of June 2017. Vapaavuori was Minister of Housing and Minister of Nordic Cooperation in Matti Vanhanen's second cabinet and Mari Kiviniemi's cabinet. He was a candidate for the head of his party in the June 2014 election, and as part of that the likeliest interim Prime Minister of Finland. However he eventually failed to make the eventual head-to-head round within the Coalition Party, which saw Alexander Stubb defeat Paula Risikko.

Jan (Jean) I Carondelet was a Burgundian jurist and politician. He was the son of Jean Carondelet and Jeanne de Basan.

Jan Hammer is a Czech-American musician, composer and record producer. He first gained his most visible audience while playing keyboards with the Mahavishnu Orchestra in the early 1970s, as well as his film scores for television and film including "Miami Vice Theme" and "Crockett's Theme", from the 1980s television program, Miami Vice. He has continued to work as both a musical performer and producer.

Jan Frederik ("Frits") Staal, was a Dutch architect, and a major figure in the development of modern architecture in the Netherlands in the first half of the twentieth century. He was the father of the architects Arthur and Georges Staal and the linguist and South Asia scholar Jan Frederik Staal.

Jan IV of Oświęcim, was a Duke of Oświęcim during 1434–1456 and Duke of Gliwice from 1465 to 1482.

Jan Ladislav Dussek was a Czech composer and pianist. He was an important representative of Czech music abroad in the second half of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century. Some of his more forward-looking piano works have traits often associated with Romanticism.
