Herman Perry
Herman Perry was an African-American soldier serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, who deserted after killing an unarmed, white lieutenant attempting an arrest on him. After being sentenced to death, he escaped custody, and a man-hunt was launched while he lived in the jungle. Perry was eventually re-captured and once again court-martialed, later hanged for murder and desertion, making him the only American executed in the China Burma India Theater during World War II.
Herman Sikumbang
Herman Sikumbang was an Indonesian guitarist who was also part of the Indonesian pop band Seventeen from 1999 to 2018. He died on 22 December 2018 at the age of 36 during the 2018 Sunda Strait tsunami as the band performed onstage. He married Juliana Moechtar in 2012 and he is survived by his wife.
Herman Lehmann
Herman Lehmann was captured as a child by Native Americans. He lived first among the Apache and then the Comanche but eventually returned to his family later in life. The phenomenon of a white child raised by Indians made him a notable figure in the United States. He published his autobiography, Nine Years Among the Indians in 1927.
Herman Talmadge
Herman Eugene Talmadge was an American politician who served as a U.S. Senator from Georgia from 1957 to 1981. A staunch segregationist, he was denounced by the Senate for financial irregularities, which were revealed during a bitter divorce from his second wife. He previously served as governor of the state from 1948 to 1955, taking over after the death of his father Eugene Talmadge, the governor-elect. Talmadge was known for his opposition to civil rights, ordering schools to be closed rather than desegregated.

Herman Samtseu Philip Mashaba is a South African politician, entrepreneur and the current president of ActionSA, a party he launched on 29 August 2020. He served as the Mayor of Johannesburg from 2016 to 2019. He is the founder of the hair product company Black Like Me. He is famous in South Africa for his life story: growing up and struggling against poverty and the apartheid government to open his own hair business, which became the biggest hair brand in South Africa, making him a millionaire. He publicly backed Mmusi Maimane in the Democratic Alliance leadership race. He wrote the autobiography Black Like You and recently he wrote his new memoir "The accidental mayor". Philosophically, he is a libertarian and "capitalist crusader" whose highest value is "individual freedom."
