He was formerly the head coach of the Oakland Raiders for the 2002 and 2003 seasons and led them to Super Bowl XXXVII. He was also the head coach for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the offensive line coach and interim head coach for the Washington Redskins.

William Thomas Romanowski is a former American football linebacker who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 16 seasons, primarily with the San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos. Selected by the 49ers in the third round of the 1988 NFL Draft, he spent six seasons each in San Francisco and Denver.
