Abbé Pierre, OFM Cap, was a French Catholic priest, member of the Resistance during World War II, and deputy of the Popular Republican Movement (MRP). Abbé is a courtesy title given to Catholic priests in French-speaking countries.

Abbe Lane is an American singer and actress. Lane was known for her sexy outfits for the times and sultry style of performing. In addition, Lane was the fourth wife of Latin bandleader and musician Xavier Cugat.

Abbé Faria, or Abbé (Abbot) José Custódio de Faria, was a Luso-Goan Catholic monk who was one of the pioneers of the scientific study of hypnotism, following on from the work of Franz Mesmer. Unlike Mesmer, who claimed that hypnosis was mediated by "animal magnetism", Faria understood that it worked purely by the power of suggestion. In the early 19th century, Abbé Faria introduced oriental hypnosis to Paris.
