Hans Daniel Björn Alfredson is a Swedish film director who is best known for directing film versions of two parts of the Millennium Trilogy: The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest. At the 29th Guldbagge Awards he won the award for Best Screenplay and was nominated for Best Director for the film The Man on the Balcony. In 2015 his film Blackway starring Anthony Hopkins, Julia Stiles and Ray Liotta was released.

Julian Schnabel is an American painter and filmmaker. In the 1980s, Schnabel received international media attention for his "plate paintings" — large-scale paintings set on broken ceramic plates. Since the 1990s, he has been a proponent of independent arthouse cinema. Schnabel directed Before Night Falls, which became Javier Bardem's breakthrough Academy Award-nominated role, and The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, which was nominated for four Academy Awards. For the latter, he won the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Director and the Golden Globe Award for Best Director, as well as receiving nominations for the Academy Award for Best Director and the César Award for Best Director.

Elijah Matthew "Eli" Craig is an American screenwriter and film director, who started his career as an actor. Craig wrote and directed the cult horror comedy movie Tucker & Dale vs Evil, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and won the audience award at SXSW. His next film Little Evil, starring Evangeline Lilly and Adam Scott, was released on Netflix in September 2017 to positive reviews.

Greg McLean is an Australian film director, producer and writer. He rose to fame in 2005 with his debut feature film, Wolf Creek, creating one of Australia's most memorable and horrific characters, Mick Taylor. The long-awaited sequel to his first feature, Wolf Creek 2 was released February 2013. Mclean also wrote, directed and produced Rogue (2007) and was executive producer of Red Hill (2010) and Crawlspace (2012). He is also the co-author of two novels about the fictional character Mick Taylor; Wolf Creek: Origin and Wolf Creek: Desolation Game and the four-part comic book series Dark Axis: Secret Battles of WW2 and the graphic novel Sebastian Hawks – Creature Hunter. In 2016, his film, The Darkness, was released to theaters, and a Wolf Creek TV series was released on Australian streaming service Stan.

Debra Granik is an American filmmaker. She is most known for 2004's Down to the Bone, which starred Vera Farmiga, 2010's Winter's Bone, which starred Jennifer Lawrence in her breakout performance and for which Granik was nominated for Academy Award for Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay, and 2018's Leave No Trace, a film based on the book My Abandonment by Peter Rock.

Elizabeth Banks is an American actress, director, writer, and producer. She is known for playing Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games film series (2012–2015) and Gail Abernathy-McKadden in the Pitch Perfect film series (2012–2017). Banks made her directorial film debut with Pitch Perfect 2 (2015), whose $69 million opening-weekend gross set a record for a first-time director. She also directed, wrote, produced, and starred in the action comedy film Charlie's Angels (2019).

Imtiaz Ali is an Indian film director, producer, and writer who works in Hindi films. He started his career with writing and directing television shows. He directed shows like Imtehaan, Naina and Kurukshetra. In 2005 he made his directorial debut with Socha Na Tha, which didn't perform well on the box office. Then he earned critical and commercial success for his direction of Jab We Met (2007). His next directorial ventures Love Aaj Kal (2009) and Rockstar (2011) made him a noted filmmaker.

Angelina Jolie is an American actress, filmmaker, and humanitarian. The recipient of numerous accolades, including an Academy Award and three Golden Globe Awards, she has been named Hollywood's highest-paid actress multiple times.

Simon Curtis is a British film director and producer. He has directed various theatre productions and the television dramas David Copperfield and Cranford. His feature films include the biographical dramas My Week with Marilyn and Woman in Gold.

Wayne Wang is a Hong Kong–American director, producer, and screenwriter. Considered a pioneer of Asian-American cinema, he was one of the first Chinese-American filmmakers to gain a major foothold in Hollywood. His films, often independently produced, deal with issues of contemporary Asian-American culture and domestic life.
